Krivit & Krivit, P.C. was established in 1976 by Daniel Krivit, former chief counsel to the U.S. House of Representatives Subcommittees on Labor and Education. From its inception, the firm's mission has been to serve the diverse needs of its clients before federal and state regulatory agencies, the United States Congress and the courts. Krivit & Krivit has represented a broad range of public and private sector clients throughout the United States, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Our clients have included local and state governments, redevelopment authorities, municipal housing authorities, utilities authorities, school boards and post-secondary educational institutions, non-profit hospitals and community health centers, faith-based and other non-profit organizations, private developers and for-profit corporations.

In the grant acquisition arena, Krivit & Krivit has secured over $300-million in federal and state competitive grant funding awards for local public benefit projects. We also provide legal advocacy services for clients on federal legislation, public policy issues and appropriations assistance for public benefit projects.

At both the federal and state levels, Krivit & Krivit's grant acquisition and regulatory compliance services have been focused in the areas of local and regional economic development and community revitalization, redevelopment of brownfields and BRAC base closure sites, transportation and environmental (water/wastewater/stormwater) infrastructure construction/ reconstruction, domestic emergency preparedness (including implementation of interoperable emergency communications systems for public safety first responders), local law enforcement technology improvements, pre-K-12 public education and post-secondary educational initiatives and enhancement of public health programs of non-profit hospitals and community health centers.

Duties included formulating legislative proposals; evaluating alternative proposals and negotiating compromises; writing Committee Reports; participating in joint House-Senate Conferences; negotiating with representatives of Executive Branch agencies, private and public institutions, business and labor organizations. Advised the Chairman and other Members of Congress on legislation under the Subcommittee's jurisdiction, which included occupational safety and health, employment and training, and Federal workers' compensation. Handled press and political public relations. Also represented the Chairman at speaking engagements before labor, business and private organizations on legislation under the Subcommittee's jurisdiction.

March 1967 to January 1969: Chief Counsel, Select Committee on Education (Hon. Dominick V. Daniels, Chairman), U.S. House of Representatives. Duties same as outlined above.

November 1966 to March 1967: Executive Assistant to Senator Harrison Williams (N.J.). Duties included all aspects of legislative and political activities.

Recognized for her expertise in federal procurement and audit resolution, Ms. Stephenson-Krivit has assisted clients to successfully defend their local grant programs against federal claims for repayment of questioned costs. She has also made numerous presentations on audit quality and related matters before national and regional working groups of the Intergovernmental Audit Forum and senior audit managers and staff of the federal Inspectors General.

In the federal program arena, Ms. Stephenson-Krivit's principal focus areas are economic development and community revitalization, conveyance and redevelopment of BRAC installations, homeland security preparedness for first responders, hospitals and community health center programs, environmental and transportation infrastructure improvement projects, and workforce development.

Ms. Stephenson-Krivit's professional background includes Congressional staff experience on the legislative staff of Senator Jacob K. Javits (R-N.Y.), Congressman Dominick V. Daniels (D-N.J.), Congressman Orval Hansen (R-ID) and Congressman John Pillion (R-N.Y.).

Ms. Zientek Perez advises and assists government and corporate clients on a wide range of procurement issues, focusing on community and economic development, education, public safety, homeland security and community partnership building. With more than 25 years of experience, she has extensive expertise in federal and state funding policies and practices. Ms. Perez is responsible for assisting clients in navigating federal and state funding opportunities to secure the resources required to bring projects to fruition. She provides strategic guidance and is known for her ability to link client solutions with federal and state agency goals, leading to successful projects.
